About Us
All of our Golden Retriever puppies receive tons of love, attention, socialization, and are started on basic training. Our Golden Retriever puppies are raised in our home in our family room, where they are around everyday activities and of course everyday noises. Raising them in our family room also ensures they receive large amounts of attention and love.
We have been raising Golden Retrievers for over 15 years now. We are not kennel breeders and all of our adult dogs are house dogs. We fell in love with our very first Golden Retriever and found out how great the breed is and from there made the decision to start sharing the smiles and joy that a Golden Retriever can bring to your life. We only breed Golden Retrievers and pride ourselves in the knowledge we have about the breed. We firmly believe that anyone can breed two dogs and sell a litter of puppies but it is what you do and how you raise that litter from birth until the time they go to their new homes that makes us different! Below is our routine for giving our Goldens a great foundational start in order to become a great fit to you and your family:
•2 days old: Handled, cuddled, and started on their neurological stimulation; also known as the Bio Sensor program. Studies have shown that puppies that are exposed to the bio sensor program results in Greater resistance to disease, more tolerance to stress, improved cardio vascular performance and stronger heart and adrenal glands. The bio sensor program also helps pups build that trust with humans at an earlier age which makes training at a young age an easier task. We also very gently touch the pads of each puppy's paws with Q-tips. This results in the puppy learning there is nothing to fear from unusual stimuli as they get older which results in a calmer demeanor of your Golden Retriever. This method is frequently used for therapy dog training.
•3 1/2 weeks of age: Weaned off of mom and started on puppy food. At this point, we carry the entire litter outside for all of their daily feedings. This allows us to start the potty training process. At this young of age, pups use the bathroom right after eating so this allows for them to start understanding the concept of using the bathroom outside.
•5 weeks of age: Introduced to the crate. At this point we start taking each puppy away from the litter to spend time alone in a crate. This makes your new Golden Retriever pup's transition to their new home easier as it is not their first time away from the litter and they have also learned to feel comfortable in their crate.
•5 1/2 - 6 weeks of age: New families get to "pick" their new puppy. Please keep in mind this is just making your pick, your puppy is not ready to go home for another week.
•7 weeks of age: Ready to go to their new home and be a part of their new family!
All of our Puppies come with the following the day they go home:
AKC Registration Form(s)
6 week Check-up
6 week shots
Puppy Packet that outlines upcoming vet visits, current schedule, training tips, etc
Small bag of current Puppy food
